This week, I'm taking time out to look back at some of this season's sweetest moments. It's been a beautiful summer so far, and outings and festivals have added to the enjoyment. But even when I've stayed on my own back porch or sat for a spell in the front yard, I've found plenty to appreciate. I hope you'll enjoy these sights as much as I have.

National Baby Food Festival? Who knew? Thanks for the lovely collection of photos. Makes me miss summer in Michigan.

I certainly didn't know about it until we moved here. Fremont is the home of Gerber (now part of Nestle). Among the festival's attractions: a contest for cupcakes made with baby food. You really should check that out.

Lovely shots, Nan. The symmetry of the corn field is soothing.

You and RM really need to get yourselves a summer place up this way! Glad you're at least in the AC and not sweatin' with the oldies.

What wonderful photos truly capturing this rich summer blessed with these sights. In the future we may have the smells and sounds too. Our strawberries are much prettier through your camera eye! Please send me that photo when you can. What is your secret for making the wildlife pose for you?? Amazing photos!! Magazine worthy for sure....

For the wildlife, patience is key, I've learned. If I sit quietly long enough, they pretty much forget about me and go about their business. Except for the squirrels, which are so curious about the camera. I swear they actually do pose for me. Also, a reallllllllly long lens helps tremendously!

Thanks for the kind words, Trisha. I didn't actually buy the flea market treasure, so come on up for the Labor Day flea market and maybe you can make it your own!

They are all beautiful pictures, of course! But float fatigue really told a story familiar to those of us who have worked with little children. Thanks for sharing your summer! Just so you'll know, your home state is cooler and greener than normal--and up to five inches of rain in the forecast. What's up with that???

Glad to hear about cooler, greener Oklahoma. It's probably greener there than it is here right now! Hope it stays that way until our visit.
