So, there was a presidential election yesterday, right? Yet as of this morning, we don't know the outcome, and we may not know for some time. What to do until then (besides nail-biting and obsessively checking the news)? Let's all take a deep breath and enjoy another visual retreat with some of my favorite photos from the past four months.

It did me good to look through these photos again, too. And reading everyone's comments also lifts my spirits.

He was so dependable. I missed him when he finally flew south. Hope he comes back next year. I'm saving his place.

THANK YOU NAN for sharing these outstanding photos! It's so amazing that with all your travels....nature IS EVERYWHERE and close to home for you as well! Just in Michigan....the wildlife, wild flowers, and weather patterns are different...guess no matter where "home" is.....if you have eyes that see, it's there!

It's true, Mary Ellen. No matter how many times I cover the same ground, I keep finding new things or looking at the same things in different ways.

So-o engaging. I did breathe deeper while viewing. The each had their own story and I especially liked the lavender mushroom and the cornfield down ther road. I've enjoyed that field for years; each season has a different crop and new emotion. Thank you for reminding us to enjoy what's around us and stay mindful.

The morning of that field photo I'd gone there looking for the sandhill cranes that had been hanging out near the road. There were no cranes, but the sky was so beautiful I didn't feel cheated.

It's good to be reminded from time to time, isn't it? I have to keep reminding myself every day.

Thank you very much for this respite. I really needed it, especially today. Not only re election angst, but also a sick cat.

Calm after the storm. Well at least for a minute. I'm sure there's more storms to come after the election. Appreciate your beautiful photos. Hard to choose one. I wish you had gotten that naughty gnome in focus.LOL...

Thanks, Nita. Not quite the same as a hike in the woods, but a fair stay-in substitute.

Thank you Nan, for sharing such a variety of unique beauty from Newaygo County. I so appreciate your talent with your camera and especially sharing it this week during rapidly rising Covid cases and the ugliness and uncertainty of the future as we wait for voted to be counted. Beautiful, peaceful, calming and hopeful; Mother Nature is such a profound teacher. ❤️
